Founder
Rod holds his Bachelor of Commerce and LLB from the University of Manitoba. Prior to founding Areva with Hamid and Adel, Rod founded Tricor Pacific Capital Inc. Over his career, Rod has been a direct, active investor in a number of residential, industrial and retail projects. He has a passion for real estate that dates back to his university years, when he successfully developed resort properties in Lake of the Woods, Ontario.
For many years, Rod was a partner with a leading Vancouver law firm, where he led their real estate practice. He eventually moved on to building companies with a focus not just on growing the business, but also developing and empowering the people working there.
Today Rod serves as Vice Chairman of the Fraser Institute, and is also active in numerous philanthropic endeavours, including serving on the Board of Directors of a world-class cancer research group at Vancouver General Hospital.
“I’m very much enjoying being partners with Adel and Hamid. We’ve got a chance to create some terrific projects that will benefit our community. I love the work we’re doing.”
In addition to being a dedicated father of a young family, Hamid sat on the City of Vancouver’s Development Permit Board Advisory Panel from 2015–2018. He volunteers with several non-profit organizations, including the Institute for Canadian Citizenship.
Since 2015, Adel has been volunteering with Pathways Serious Mental Illness Society, a local non-profit organization.
“My wife and I have young children. And to some extent we are doing our projects for people like us: people who do dishes and laundry and go to work and drive their kids around. At this point in our lives, we have a good insight into what a good home means, what it represents, and how important it is.”
Prior to joining Tricor, Shawn worked for 15 years at Stern Partners, a Vancouver-based private investment firm, where he was Vice President and General Counsel. In addition to overseeing legal matters for the group, he assisted with acquisitions and dispositions, corporate development and finance, and on-going business and strategic matters for the group’s companies.
Prior to Stern Partners, Shawn practised law for six years at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York. He was a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Group and Private Equity Group and his practice focused on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and other general corporate matters.
Shawn studied law at McGill University where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.). He also obtained a Bachelor of Science (Architecture) from McGill University’s School of Architecture.
Shawn is active in various community and philanthropic organizations.
Anne was honoured with the YMCA Vancouver Women of Distinction Award in “Business and the Professions” in 2017, and was named Best Lawyers’ 2016 Vancouver Corporate Governance Practice “Lawyer of the Year”.
Anne is a Dame of the Order of St. John. She is active in various professional, community and charitable organizations, including the Minerva Foundation for BC Women. Through her mentorship and guidance, Anne supports leadership development, particularly for young professional and executive women.
In the years following her graduation from Laurentian with her Bachelor of Commerce, Lisa gained financial management experience in various industries, working in a leading Canadian financial services company, and as a controller at a private firm whose revenues nearly tripled during her tenure.
Lisa obtained her Certified Professional Accounting designation in 2015, graduating with honours. She volunteers annually at the Woodward Harvest Dinner and is a supporter of the Ride to Survive, where participants cycle from Kelowna to Delta in one day to raise funds for cancer research and treatments. When she’s not counting beans for the team, Lisa enjoys yoga, travel and outdoor adventures with her family.
Ryan was appointed by City Council in 2018 to sit as a member of the advisory panel to the Development Permit Board of the City of Vancouver.

This same commitment has also informed his work with Areva Living, aligning with their vision of creating impactful developments.
Parham holds an Associate of Arts Degree from Capilano University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Geography and Urban Studies from Simon Fraser University. Parham has also guest-lectured to SCARP graduate students at the University of British Columbia and serviced on one of the UDI’s Liaison committees.
